Swimming sports & Powhiri update

Kia ora everyone

Hope your weekend is going well and you are taking advantage of level 1 again and this lovely weather.

I just wanted to update you on a couple of events that were hanging in the air because of the lock downs and the pool being painted and upgraded.

The swimming sports – Swimming sports will go ahead for the Senior students only ( our year 4, 5 and 6 children) this Tuesday 16th March starting at 1:20pm.  We need to continue with our senior children because our interschool swimming sports is due very soon and a team from school needs to be established.

The  Junior children’s swimming sports( our year 1, 2 and 3 students) has been postponed until term 4.

After speaking to the Junior school teachers we have decided it is unfair and unrealistic to expect our little ones, some of whom have not yet had a chance to swim in the pool, to take part in swimming sports. Instead we will keep the pool open for as long as the weather permits to give our younger children a chance to build confidence and feel happy.

The pool is now balanced, cleaned and ready for use this week. Please ensure your children bring their togs and towels all named in a suitable waterproof bag every day.

Our Powhiri

Our Powhiri is very important to us and once again we have had to postpone twice. We are hoping we can get it rescheduled for Monday 22nd March. This will depend on the availability of certain people. I will confirm that with everyone as soon as I know.

Thank you for your support and understanding. This has been out of our control but I know how hard it is for everyone when things and constantly postponed or cancelled!
